Flaggfabrikken’s international artist/curator/art critic residency.

Flaggfabrikken – Center for photography and contemporary art is offering an opportunity to undertake a two months residency in Bergen, Norway.
The residency is open for artists, curators and art critics working within contemporary art.
Upcoming application deadline: October 1st, 2010
We offer three residencies a year, two for the spring period (March-April or May-June) and one for autumn (September – October). All periods in 2011 are due on October 1st, 2010.
Flaggfabrikken will with the generous financial support from the municipality of Bergen offer the artist: studio, accommodation, travel expenses paid and give a small grant towards covering other living expenses during the artist’s stay.
During the residency the artist will be expected to give a small talk on his/her work for the members of Flaggfabrikken and local artists/curators. In addition, Flaggfabrikken suggests that the artist will take the opportunity of showing work in collaboration with a local institution.

How to apply:
-Applications must include up to 20 images of previous works
-A project proposal for the residency period
-An artist statement of no more than 150 words
-An updated resume
PLEASE SPECIFY PREFERRED PERIOD OF THE RESIDENCY: SPRING 1 (March-April), SPRING 2 (May-June) or AUTUMN (September-October)
Digital images must be JPG, 1024×768 pix, 72 dpi.
Video work must be QuickTime or AVI.
Attachments may not exceed 10MB.

The residencies will be decided before November 15th 2010. (Residencies in 2011 may be subject to changes according to the financial frames set by the Bergen municipality. The selected artists will be kept informed of any changes.)
