The upcoming Director of UKS co-curates show at Hordaland Kunstsenter

Linus Elmes is an artist and a curator from Stockholm who has been appointed the new Director of UKS in Oslo. In 2008 Elmes was the guest of Flaggfabrikken presenterer with his project Ersta Konsthall. Elmes has also worked with the galleries Ak28 and AEREA.
In Hordaland Kunstsenter Linus Elmes, Anne Szefer Karlsen and Petra Rahm will present the exhibition situation DIG IT. From the press release “DIG IT describes how artistic methods and strategies are influenced by art, both a as phenomena within the social space, and through its presence in the studio practice. DIG IT is a set of particular key- works we have identified as an important intellectual heritage.”
Participating artists are:
Po Hagström, Ellen Karolina Jakobsson Strømsø, Mikael Lundberg, Tova Mozard, Ylva Ogland, Sveinung Rudjord Unneland and Anders Widoff.

Opening at Gallery USF, Bergen: 7pm May 22nd

CAM
The title CAM refers to the practice of illegally copying movies by filming the screen in movie theatres. The exhibition actively refers to this practice by including a series of cammed contemporary art exhibitions currently showing in galleries and museums in more than ten countries on three continents.
The exhibition is curated by Arne Skaug Olsen together with Erlend Hammer, Jan Christensen, Synnøve G Wetten, Andre Gali, James Webb and Lerato Bereng, Jooyoung Lee, Jimmi Limit, Wang Baoju, Joris Lindhout, Jan Freuchen, Runa Johannessen and Dan Levenson.

Flaggfabrikken guest artist Susanna Majuri at the Turku Biennial 2009
